Our Inspiration
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the great warrior on the surface who implemented truth over falsehood, justice over injustice, good governance over despotism and realized the dream of Swarajya with his brothers from the eighteen Pagad caste, this is Maharashtra...
It was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who raised the banner of the glorious Maratha Empire in unbroken India without bowing down to the throne of Delhi, who created the Hindu Swarajya in the mind of the Rayat’s. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule started the first school for girls in India by taking the initiative for women's education... Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj promoted equality, Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar gave the constitution based democracy to the Country. This Maharashtra worked to carry forward the legacy of the progressive thoughts of Chhatrapati-Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar who gave direction to the country.
It is a matter of pride for every one of us that Maharashtra has benefited from the legacy of great women like Swarajyjanani Rajmata Jijau, Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilya Devi Holkar, Kranti Jyoti Savitrimai Phule, Mata Ramabai Ambedkar.
Since Chhatrapati Shivaraya, many exemplary representatives of progressive thoughts have cultivated the vow to unite 18 Pagad castes, 12 Balutedars under one roof and save everyone in Maharashtra in the present political system. One of these names is the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra Late Hon. Yashwantrao Chavan. NCP-Sharad Chandra Pawar party is continuously working to preserve the legacy of Chavan Saheb's ideas.

At the time of the Formation of the Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar on June 10, 1999, the Political situation in Delhi was alarming and adverse. Still Pawar Saheb Believed in his vision and his people. The Political ideology of this new party was considered as the inspiration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Pawar Saheb underlined his progressive Political and social consciousness by following the path laid down by Mahatma Jotiba Phule, Rajashri Shahu Maharaj, Mahamanav Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar for the common good. NCP-SP has always maintained this progressive and people-based Ideology.
